Garrison and I train for a while. The nighttime fauna is significantly more disturbing than it is in the day, and that's saying something. Whereas the day brings fat birds and purple mice, the night presents me with enormous-eyed owls with only one foot each.
And spiders.
-shudder-
The hospital nurse shows me her true form as well.
It is too horrifying for my brain to comprehend.
Somehow, I escape with my life...
..Only to be put down by a pint-sized halfwit. I'm beginning to think this world was created for the sole purpose of destroying me bit by bit.
We take the time to ponder the situation we are in.
Before annihilating the opponent in a carnage-spray of leaf knives!
Unfortunately, this bug catcher's feet were caught in the attack.
Let us have a moment of silence for him.
...
Moving on.
Ohhh boy... That's right; maybe calling Mom would have been a good idea.
Erm... Gosh, now I feel terrible. I mean, she only lives with me. I'm basically her only source of comfort these days.
Oh well. I have Garrison now. She'll be fine.
I come across a disturbingly rectangular cave. There must be something foreboding about it if everyone chooses to keep out of it.
Ah. It is impossibly dark.
I can somehow see an item glowing off in the distance, but after several attempts at getting to it which end in me ramming into a wall, I give up on it.
The cave itself is proving to be a disappointment for the most part.
It has eyeless bats.
And rocks with faces and arms.
Neither interests me in the slightest.
I start to turn around, but I hear something much larger approaching me. What is it? I only hear small squeaks. I dare to step closer to their source.
I can finally make out its form.
And I am astounded.

I have never before in my life seen a creature as beautiful as this one. It eyes me with an almost polite sense of caution, and nervously lifts its drill-like tail in defense. For a slice of eternity, we hold still, breathless.
It is at this point that Garrison trips over a rock. The mysterious Pokémon is startled and emits a shriek loud enough to pierce the heavens. Garrison tackles it at my command. I don't want to hurt the amazing creature, but I know I must weaken it if I want to capture it and ever see it again.
They exchange blows until it is enraged so much that it looks as if it may kill. As wondrous as it is, I cannot let it harm Garrison mortally.
I worry that I'm probably going to need all of these.
But, with a single PokéBall, the beast is captured.
My PokéDex identifies it as something called a "Dunsparce".
A new team member. A new warrior in my great army of total annihilation.
This must be the true meaning of love.
NEXT TIME: Frez enters Violet City! Holy crab cakes and goulash!
Holy molasses pie DUNSPARCE! :D That's awesome! Wonderful luck in finding and capturing it! C:
